Elder financial abuse, also known as financial exploitation, is the illegal or unauthorized use of an older adult’s funds or resources for the benefit of someone other than the older adult. This includes fraud, theft, and act of deception to gain control over a senior’s money or property. You will learn about common types of financial abuse, indicators, and signs, how to report and get help. This class is for older adults and their families.

Vaughn Kavlie

Vaughn is a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist (CMPS™), Certified Housing Wealth Advisor, and Reverse Mortgage Specialist. Since 1989 he has worked primarily with Independent Community Banks, Financial Planners, and Professional Associations. Vaughn has trained and given seminars to hundreds of professionals about the real estate marketplace. From First Time Homebuyers to Reverse Mortgage candidates and everyone in between, Vaughn enjoys the education and planning process with his clients. Vaughn has also appeared a number of times as a mortgage industry guest on WCCO Radio. He is a graduate of Moorhead State University where he studied business. He is active in his Church, enjoys serving as a School Board Member and partaking in many different sports and outdoor activities. Vaughn and his wife Deb reside in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
