Adult W-SP 26

Learn how Social Security works and how to make the most of the benefits you have earned. This class is helpful for married couples, singles, and widows who want to understand their options before or during retirement. The class explains how marital status can affect Social Security benefits, including spousal and survivor benefits. You will explore how to choose the best time to claim benefits and how timing decisions may impact long‑term income.

Additional topics include how Social Security fits with other retirement income sources, such as 401(k)s, IRAs, and pensions. The class also covers how Social Security benefits are taxed, strategies that may help reduce taxes in retirement, and how earning income while receiving benefits may affect payment amounts. This class is designed to help you feel confident and informed when making Social Security decisions. Individuals may attend on their own or with a spouse or family member.
