Quilt Blocks

Adult Enrichment / Arts & Creativity -
Adult W-SP 26

Have you seen quilts and wondered how they're made? It starts with quilt blocks. Learn how to make four quilt blocks including the Ohio Star, Fence Rail, Nine Patch, and Pin Wheel. Leave with ideas on how to make your blocks into mug rugs or a wall hanging. Basic sewing skills required. Bring a sewing machine, thread, fabric scissors, fabric marking pen or chalk, pins or fabric weights, acrylic ruler, rotary cutter and mat and a seam ripper. A $20 supply fee is payable to instructor at first class.

Sandra Bengtson

Sandra Bengtson is the owner of Avant Garb Fashions. She created her business, in part, because she believes that knowing how to sew is an important life skill that, if nourished, becomes a hobby, craft, and a great way to express creativity. Sandra loves the ability to create and share with others the one-of-a-kind, handmade items that reflect ones personal style. After working almost 30 years in Community Education, she now offers beginner and advanced-beginner sewing classes that provide a warm, inclusive classroom environment with fun, laughter, and perhaps even new friendships.
