  • 3D Engineering: Architectural & Structural Design

    Bring your imagination to life. Become a master bricklayer and use our special architectural LEGO kits to build your creations. Be an architect as you learn the principles of construction. The main goal of the course is to introduce the concept of 3 Dimension and its role in design. Working in teams, you will construct buildings, structures, towers, castles, and more. Learn principles of construction and use math skills as you experiment with scale and size, staggering vs. stacking and more. In a hands-on class using LEGO® materials, you'll build houses with removable roofs, castles with turrets, and towers of strength! It just may be impossible to exhaust the creative potential of LEGO bricks. With an active imagination as your guide, there are endless possibilities.

    Learn the ropes of 3D modeling and printing. You get to use 3D pens to understand printing in plastic.   • 60 Second or Less Camp

    In this action-packed camp, you will channel your inner competitive spirit to complete 60 second challenges that reinforce specific STEM principles. From exploring energy conservation by rolling marbles over tape to understanding the power of air pressure by making cups fly, each day, learners utilize household items and micro-challenges to demonstrate the expansive world of STEM. As the challenges in 60 Seconds or Less Camp become progressively more difficult, you will need to think fast, move quickly and apply the real-world principles they’ve learned in order to earn the honor of being called a true STEM champion!

    Save money now! MN law mandates a 10% reduction in car insurance premiums for persons 55 yrs. + who complete a defensive driving class. Engage in an overview of safe and basic driving laws. No writing or driving tests required. Learn from our driver safety expert Dan Hollenbeck. This 4 hour, refresher course is for those that have completed a full course and need to renew your certificate. You must bring your driver's license to class.

  • ACT or SAT: Discover the Best Fit

    A student with weaker working or verbal memory will do better on the ACT reading section because the passages are shorter. If a student has weaker spatial perception or visual memory, the SAT may be preferred because there is less geometry, trigonometry and no science section.  Mindprint is an affordable evidence-based online solution that identifies each student’s learning strengths and challenges. The objective is to gain an understanding of each student's non-academic strengths and needs in areas like executive functions, memory, processing, and reasoning. The assessment will provide the student with an indication of whether the ACT or SAT test would be a better fit for them as well as improving academic performance. Parents will be notified once the student has been registered and testing can proceed. The at-home assessment takes approximately 1 hour Cognitive assessment results will be provided within 1 week

    Who will speak for you if you can no longer speak for yourself? Who will you choose to make sure your desires for your health care are honored and carried out properly? This course will provide an introduction to Health Care Directives and Do Not Resuscitate (DNR)/Do Not Intubate (DNI) orders. Learn what these documents are, why you should have at least one, and what protections they can provide you and your loved ones.

Possible projects include the Scissor Lift, Stamping Press, Robotic Arm, Robotic Hand, Animatronic Scarecrow, and Dinosaur.

    The BEAT (Bunce Educational Adventure Theater) presents Disney’s Aladdin KIDS. This production is sure to send you soaring on a flying carpet ride filled with romance and adventure. When the street urchin, Aladdin, vies for the attention of the beautiful princess, Jasmine, he uses a genie's magic power to become a prince in order to marry her. Iago, Jafar, the Genie and more are here in this musical adventure filled with magic, mayhem and the power of love. If you enjoy singing, dancing and drama, you will have fun performing in this delightful show. All students who sign up will get a part. Auditions for lead characters will be held on the first day. This activity is limited to 50 students. The show will be performed for Fernbrook staff and students on Friday, April 12th and there will be one free performance for friends and family on Saturday, April 13th at 2 pm at Maple Grove Middle School.

Tech rehearsal will be on Thursday, July 18 from 1-4:30 pm at Maple Grove Middle School (no transportation provided). Note: this is the same show that was done at Cedar Island (January 2019) and Fernbrook (April 2019). Costumes are provided, students need to provide base layer.

    This 5 Day – 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Day Camp is for the seriously horse-crazy youth or adult! Start the week as a novice and finish strong with great horsemanship & riding skills. Learn what it takes to own and care for a horse. Progressively grow your safe handling, grooming, ground work, horsemanship, basic riding and horse farm operations skills. Accelerate your skills quickly with one riding and one handling lesson daily. Focus on basic riding skills in a Western saddle but learn about all other disciplines too. Horse, tack, grooming supplies, safety helmet & instructions are provided. Required are long pants and boots or shoes with a heel. Barn location: 26125 Tucker Road, Rogers, MN 55374.
