The Early Childhood Parent Advisory Council (ECPTO) consists of families dedicated to supporting Osseo Area Schools Early Childhood and Family Education programs - ECFE, Preschool and PreK, and Early Childhood Screening.
Classes specifically designed for parents and infants. Families stay together the entire class time. Registration is based on the age of the child at the start date of each class.
Online Parenting Classes
Mixed Age adventures for parents and children age birth to 5 years old. Parent and child separating time will be determined by the needs of the group.

Kolaches are one of Czechoslovakia’s national pastries and immigrants brought their passion and recipes for Kolaches to the Midwest as early as the 1860’s. Using slightly sweet and egg-rich yeast dough, Kolaches are traditionally baked with fillings made from apricots or prunes, cottage cheese or poppy seeds. You can shape them into small rounds, square “tied packages,” or filled turnovers.
You will make variations in class and taste samples then take home an assortment to share with family, friends, or to freeze. You will also receive many recipes, tips and techniques to master these marvelous Old World delicacies. Better than a bakery!
Course Fee includes $15.00 food supply fee.
Laurel Severson is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a double major in Home Economics and Education. She has worked in businesses throughout her career focusing on food – beginning with editing a series of 12 international cookbooks, testing recipes and editing a British cookbook. She worked at 3M for 30 years supervising the executive dining room, a snack bar, employees buffet, conference dining rooms and the special events such as retirement parties and 25 year anniversary parties before transferring into hospital food service and then the hotel industry. Laurel currently works in many Community Education districts throughout the metro area teaching participation cooking classes. She has traveled extensively including living in the Philippines for one year and in London for two years. An avid collector of cookbooks, Laurel generously shares culinary tips with students. She entertains extensively in her 1882 home and is an energetic volunteer within her St. Paul community. For example, this fall, one volunteer project includes heading up the kitchen crew to feed 500 for a spaghetti supper fundraiser.
