The Art of Phyllo Pastry

Prepare an assortment of appetizers, main dishes and desserts all made with this amazing pastry dough. Begin by preparing phyllo kisses, a 5-minute appetizer. Then, bake puffy feta cheese triangles. Main dishes include chicken and vegetables such as broccoli and cheese sauce, rolled in this golden pastry. Finish with Baklava, loaded with nuts and saturated with honey syrup. 

Laurel Severson

Laurel Severson is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a double major in Home Economics and Education. She has worked in businesses throughout her career focusing on food – beginning with editing a series of 12 international cookbooks, testing recipes and editing a British cookbook. She worked at 3M for 30 years supervising the executive dining room, a snack bar, employees buffet, conference dining rooms and the special events such as retirement parties and 25 year anniversary parties before transferring into hospital food service and then the hotel industry. Laurel currently works in many Community Education districts throughout the metro area teaching participation cooking classes. She has traveled extensively including living in the Philippines for one year and in London for two years. An avid collector of cookbooks, Laurel generously shares culinary tips with students. She entertains extensively in her 1882 home and is an energetic volunteer within her St. Paul community.
