Learn some of the most pressing issues this population faces such as: housing, health and medical, incapacity planning, end-of-life issues, identity theft and scams and finance issues. Whether you are 65, or have a loved one in that age range, this class will help equip you with a high-level road map of how to navigate some of the most challenging issues you'll face at some point in your life.

    Based on the best selling book by Dr. Atul Gawande, this class provides a platform for discussing how to live a very good life in the face of our own mortality and what will matter to you in the end. You'll have an opportunity to consider how you want to live at the end of your life. The roles that medicine and communication play will also be discussed. You are encouraged to either read the book or view the PBS Frontline Special, but do not need to do either before attending class.
  • Dynamic Aging

    Aging is inevitable, aches and pains are not. Change the way you move and you can immediately change the way you feel. Through simple movements and alignment techniques, Dynamic Aging exercises assist in: developing whole-body health, discovering pain relief, building strength and stability, reestablishing alignment and balance, creating more mobility, reducing tension, decreasing pain/inflammation, and improving overall well-being. You will have the opportunity to actively participate while standing in socks or bare feet.

Join us to learn: alignment points to alleviate foot pressure (plantar fasciitis, bunions, neuromas, arthritis, etc.), how shoe choice effects the entire body (not just foot health), five main components to look for in shoes/footwear, the ideal role of orthotics, and exercises to move, stretch, and strengthen the muscles of the feet and lower legs. You will have the opportunity to actively participate in the gentle exercises while standing in socks or bare feet.

While this workshop is appropriate for everyone, if you are trying to get pregnant, are currently pregnant, or have been pregnant, you will gain the most benefit from this workshop created just for you.

    Experience more energy, better health, and the skills to reduce stress and anxiety both immediately and long-term. A higher quality of breath results in a higher quality of life. Aware breathing can result in benefits that include: reducing anxiety and stress; improving memory, focus and concentration; increasing energy and decreasing fatigue; improving sleep; and improving conditions such as headaches, high blood pressure, stomach issues, metabolism and mood. Better breathing is the first step towards better quality of life.
  • Release, Roll and Flow

    Take control of how your body feels. Alleviate aches and pains, reduce muscle tension, improve posture and joint range of motion, increase circulation and promote relaxation through self-massage. Muscle and tissue release techniques are easy to learn and a must for everyone to improve function, mobility, performance and overall well-being. Please bring a mat and a foam roller (if you own one), tennis balls and a few sample foam rollers will be provided.
  • Restorative Yoga

    Restorative yoga is a passive, gentle form of yoga. Through the use of various props (blankets, bolsters, blocks and straps) you release into supportive poses and begin to more easily identify the ways you are holding onto stress and tension. Once you become aware and come into contact with these deeper restrictions and habitual patterns, you learn to make space and welcome whatever you find with kindness, curiosity, and compassion. Each class includes easing into comfortable poses, a guided meditation and ending in savasana, the pose of restful awareness. Restore, renew and revitalize your mind, body, and spirit. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, you should bring your own blanket/mat and bolster to class.
