Screening is a FREE Service for All Osseo Area Schools Children. (Watch a short video Screening Video). *All Children complete Early Childhood Screening prior to enrolling in kindergarten. Available for children ages 3-5; ideal time for screening is between ages 3 and 4. *Simple check of vision, hearing, height, weight and development (not a substitute for comprehensive eye exam). *Brief review of health history and immunizations *Helps identify children who may benefit from resources to help in their development Important Note: There is no charge for screening, but you must add this course to your cart and complete the checkout process to be enrolled. An email confirmation will be sent to you to confirm your appointment enrollment. You will also receive an email reminder a couple days prior to the appointment. For children from birth to five years old, ECFE is a safe place to play freely, mingle with other children, and learn. For parents, ECFE is a place to receive support from other parents, ask questions about your child's development or education to a licensed teacher, and reflect on your family values and practices. The ECFE class for families who speak Spanish at home and who would like to participate in the conversation between parents in Spanish. Parents and children will stay together through the entire class time.

Building a foundation for lifelong learning A half-day preschool program that meets three days a week for children who turn three on or before Sept. 1, 2024, and not yet eligible for kindergarten are able to register for this class. Students are placed through a random lottery giving everyone an equal chance at their first choice. The lottery randomly places students in a class; following the lottery, registration is based on space available. The following documents are required to complete registration. Proof of Birth: A copy of birth certificate, I-94 or passport. Proof of Income: Provide proof of household annual adjusted gross income for 2023. Two current pay stubs, 2023 W-2 form or 2023 Federal Tax form. Scholarship applications may require a different proof of income. Proof of income is not required if full tuition is paid. Immunization Record: Provide the most up-to-date record. You may file a medical exemption signed by a health care provider or provide a notarized, signed conscientious objection form. If the required documents are not received within two weeks of registration, enrollment will be canceled. Tuition is based on a sliding fee scale considering household income and family size (see below). The Arbor View Nature Play Area is designed to spark curiosity, foster creativity, and provide a hands-on connection with the environment. During class time, you can expect your child to engage in a variety of activities. Their schedule may include: Group Time: Involving songs, stories, games, and movement activities to encourage social interaction and group participation. Nature Play Time: Providing physical activities to support gross motor skills development. Discovery Time: Focused on learning through play, incorporating various activities such as art, literacy, math, dramatic play, science, sensory exploration, and more. This class is for children ages Birth to 5 as of September 1, 2023 You and your child will enjoy time together in our outdoor space designed to support young children’s learning and development. The outdoor classroom space includes: mud kitchen, giant bird's nest, hammock village, sand play area, little library, slack line, tree cookie trail, water play area and more! Book Time: All children will have dedicated time for engaging with books. Library Time: Children at elementary school locations will have specific time allocated for activities in the school library. For parents with newborns from birth to 12 weeks. 12 weeks! Some call this time period the fourth trimester because even though a baby is out of the womb, both mom and baby are still biologically connected and need each other to regulate and get through those first 12 weeks postpartum. Those weeks can be challenging, beautiful, full of growing/healing/changing, and a test of the body and mind at times. That’s where we come in. We talk about all the realities of the fourth trimester, connect new parents with the resources they need to feel confident in those first few, sleep-deprived months, and building awareness among new parents that confusion and difficulties are expected and common. In class, there will be opportunities to weigh and measure your newborn, tracking their growth. Then a parent educator and public health nurse will be available to provide information and support on topics such as sleep, attachment, development, other topics related to a newborn, plus you and your mental health as you navigate this major life change.
